Was a cast-iron pain in the butt to get started the first time, but now it lights up the first time, every time. Before that, all I got was lots of smoke and backfires. Did a lot of debugging, and ended up running the battery down, but never found anything wrong. Charged it up again, turned on the fuel pump and ignition, cranked it over, and lit right up and ran like a clock. Lots more to do, I hooked it up using cheap auto parts store electrical connectors (saving the expensive plane ones for the “real” installation) and with fuel and return hoses draped into a 5 gallon gas can. I’m pleased. Both primary and secondary ignition work 100%. Haven’t tried the secondary fuel pump yet.
