We took the kids to Montana for Spring Break, and stopped at some interesting places. The engine above (a J33 out of a P-80) was at this odd, dumpy, but very interesting museum half-way between Kalispell and Missoula. They also had a very sad, tired old P-80 on display. I love the P-80. It’s a pretty airplane. Below are some fire bombers. The first one is on the ramp, ready to go. The others are old and worn out, and were sitting in an old boneyard behind a hanger in Missoula.
Montana is about the prettiest state I’ve been to (right up there with Alaska and Idaho):
