Museum of Flight

Had a few days off of work the week of Christmas, so I took Joshua and Morgan over to the Museum of Flight (we’re members, so it’s free).  Hadn’t been in several months, and it turns out they had a couple of new things.  My favorite was this scrap of aluminum.  It’s actually a piece of Amelia Earhart’s plane.  Somebody snagged it during repairs of her plane after her failed take-off attempt.  Kind of cool.

The Super Constellation isn’t new, but I still think it’s the prettiest airplane ever built, and deserves a photo.

And they finally repainted the prototype 747.  It was starting to look pretty sad and ragged.  The paint was almost completely faded and most of the engines were missing, with just stumps hanging off the wing.  As one of the more historical planes the museum owns, it’s nice to see it looking shiny and new again.
